GET GOLDEN, Memorial day weekend 2005

I had a blast spending time with many AIESECERS across the country and even non-AIESECERS from other countries. Mainly, I hung out with Crech Republic guys and met new friends.

this picture was taken on our way to YOSEMITE's crane valley

I went to Mirror Lake and ate dinner at Blue Mountain on our way to
our camp at Crane Valley.

Day One-- Friday at 2am, my group arrive at the camp where we are looking for the AIESEC tent and woke up many people with flash lights at camp site A, then we transferred to camp site B because Farid told us that camp site B is where the party at. When we arrived at camp site B, there is no one there. Wee Steve, one of the SUN trainees yield at us for being loud

Day two-- the morning after, it is Saturday; Jan, me, Cindy, Alexis, and Amy went to the nearby lake to go for a swim. The lake was so dirty, so I didn't swim, but Jan did. When we arrived at the camp site, no one was there. Apparently everyone left to go to the MARINA. That is the place where we are suppose to have our lunch. Luckily Dagan, LCP of Oregon went to pick us up. He was driving a seven seater SUV, which we fit 14 people. It was fun and memorable experience fitting 14 people in a 7 maximum capacity SUV. Then I went for a swim at the MARINA. I didn't go for kayaking or boating because I'm so cheap I don't want to spend my money on those. The rental fees are expensive. I went for a swim with Kaye aka KALPATA from NUS, Alexis from NUS, and Amy-- Jenny's friend. It was hilarious when we forced Kalpy, Kaye's nickname, for a swim. She couldn't swim and scared of the water. When we went to the other side of the lake, she didn't know how to come back because she doesn't know how to swim.
But luckily Younes helped her out. Alexis' swim suit was ripped when we went to wood thingy.
I got splinter thanks for the wood thingy.

At night time, we had hotdog and burgers for dinner; also I had chatzi for dinner (red wine).
I had fun

Day three: as every morning, we had peanut butter and jelly sandwich. We went to YOSEMITE for that day's activities. We took many landscape pictures of YOSEMITE and many water falls. I had so much fun getting wet. Because it took us long to get to the camp, we decided to go out for dinner at restaurant. We went to Mountain Mikes; the camp people had chicken soup. Well we kinda cheated because we went to the restaurant. The Scottish SUN trainees did a Scottish presentation where they taught us how to dance the Scottish way. It was fun and relaxing.
Big Steve taught us some Scottish slang; shut your fuss means shut your mouth, and wify means middle age woman. They even told their funny story about the SUN executives meeting the SUN government. I will tell you guys that next time.

Day four: it is our last day. We went to the lake again for a swim and took more pictures.
We left at 12 noon then we got home in Newark at 7pm. Then we got into an accident
It really showed me that American cars suck; they can't stand accident.

that's all folk

  • Ahem, the less recorded about that Scottish government/Sun trainee incident the better. Thankfully we managed to keep our selves out of the papers.

    Always enjoy telling it though!

  • Okey Drew, I'm not going to write about your the Scottish incident. lol
The Scottish govt. might read my blog.
I'll write about Mark's frisbee incident. It's hilarious.

  • You got into an accident? Is everyone OK? What happened?

By Dan Cunningham, at 1:46 PM

  • Dan, on our way to Newark, we got into an accident. Leos crashed his front rental car and the front was bent and the front shiny thing of the car (I don't know what you call it)fell off. I felt a slight bump; I thought the car I was riding was hit, but it's not. I thought the other driver hit us, but it's like a domino game. the other car hit us, then Leos hit the other car. I was riding with Jirka's car at that time. We were at Stockton at that time. Everyone is okey; no one is hurt.
